Jet2 757 FORCED TO RETURN to Manchester after MECHANICAL ISSUES on Takeoff

At 10:19 on the 2nd October 2016 Jet2 flight LS891 departed Manchester's runway 05L bound for Lanzarote . Seconds after departure the 757 registered G-LSAG realised they had a problem and entered a hold over Wigan at 8,000ft where it circled for a further 40 minutes.

After leaving the hold the 757 made an approach to runway 05L where the fire service stood by. After touching down the 757 came to a full stop at the end of the runway where fire crews approached and inspected the aircraft. The 757 then taxied off and round to a remote stand at T2 followed by the fire service.

This is the 3rd time in 4 weeks that this 29 year old boeing 757 has been forced to return to the airport due to a technical fault.
On the 7th & 9th September the aircraft could not retract its landing gear on departure and, as like today, circled over Wigan before returning and landing at Manchester. After these incidents this aircraft was grounded and the aircraft carried out two test flights on 28th and 29th September routing Manchester-Manchester, however the aircraft had been operating passenger flights previous to this.

What caused today's return is still unknown and unconfirmed but it is highly likely that it suffered the same gear problem as many people reported seeing it circling with its gear down. However there are other rumours of a flap problem but these again are unconfirmed. A replacement aircraft was drafted in and flight LS891A (operated by G-SLAD) departed Manchester at 13:25 BST

With this being the third time of an incident with this same aircraft it must be said that a thorough inspection and check is needed.

We would also like to apologise for the poorer quality of this video compared to usual. With only noticing the emergency shortly before it landed it was a quick dash to the airport and therefore a backup camera was used.
