In October 2018 we flew with Virgin Atlantic from Manchester to Bridgetown, Barbados. This was our first time flying with Virgin so we were excited to see what their products and service had to offer. Our aircraft for the flight was G-VMIK, an ex Air Berlin A330-200 which Virgin had bought and received in January this year (2018).
The aircraft were initially bough to help recover from the flight operations problem caused by the 787 engine issues which had left many of Virgin's 787's grounded.

During the summer season Manchester has had a number of Virgin's A330-200's based here, operating across their schedule, which included their Bridgetown flight.

The aircraft still has the old Air Berlin interior, however Virgin's IFE systems have been installed onboard. The cabin is quite dated and cramped, and we can't say it was our most comfortable flight. Although the cabin and seats were nothing to rave about, we were very impressed with the service offered onboard.

The drinks and food services were prompt and we received a number of different snacks throughout the flight and the ice cream, hot towels and landing sweets were a nice touch in addition to the normal services.

The IFE again was good, with a range of films, tv programmes, music and games. The crew onboard were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. In all it was a very good flight.

Stay tuned for our trip report from the return flight which was operated by a 747-400 (which we boarded via steps!!!)
